Now it’s so old that I even forget I had surgery, but before the procedure I wore contact lenses for about 10 years, and blood vessels grew over my cornea, so LASIK and LASEK were not possible, which is why I had lens implantation. The surgery process, where you keep your eyes open and watch something being put into your eye, was a pretty nerve-racking..?! feeling, but once it was done, it was heaven. Freedom from the hassle. One thing that was a bit scary was that at the Busan branch, during surgery the doctor got flustered and kept telling me to look straight ahead.. My eyes suddenly couldn’t see. So it was because my eyeball had turned and I couldn’t keep my gaze forward. While operating on the eye, losing sight of the front for even a moment is just pure fear;; I thought I had gone blind for a second, but I could see again while they were still operating, so I don’t think there was a problem and I think they handled it well. Still, it would have been nice if they had explained why it happened after the surgery, but they just moved on without saying anything. The disappointing part was when I visited the Seoul branch for a post-op checkup after moving to Seoul They said that with a toric lens, if impact occurs afterward, the axis can shift and revision surgery may be needed, and that they use some kind of special incision method there to correct astigmatism, but after the surgery the rim of the iris at the incision area turned gray. When I mentioned that during a post-op visit to the Seoul branch, the doctor got annoyed and scolded me, saying that even if you cut open the abdomen in surgery, scars still remain;; I wasn’t arguing at all, I was just quietly asking. I said, “This area changed color~,” just asking whether it might be an exceptional case I had never been told before that there would be scars, so... that outburst still comes to mind Maybe it was because I was a woman in my early twenties coming alone and they thought I was easy to brush off Or maybe because it wasn’t done at that branch and they were just annoyed It was a follow-up that was mandatory after a 500k surgery, but it felt like I had gotten free volunteer work. Anyway, aside from that checkup, I’ve been living without any other major issues. Vision correction really improves quality of life! But you do have to keep cosmetic lenses at a lifelong distance.
