Hello, this is my review up to now after having LASEK surgery at the end of 2018. I had the surgery during my last vacation before discharge. I’m not sure if this is the correct way to say it, but when I bought my lenses, my vision was around -6.5. Because my eyes felt very dry and gritty when wearing contacts, I decided to have the surgery. At the time I was deciding between two hospitals for consultation, but I just got my consultation at this hospital and decided on surgery. It was a long time ago, so I’m not 100% sure, but I think the director was kind and gave me a lot of trust. The surgery ended quickly, and even right after surgery I remember being able to see clearly for moments and trying to force my painful eyes open. I recovered at home for about a week, and it hurt a lot. Oh, for LASEK, I think many people get some kind of serum eye drops? I heard many people use those, but I didn’t get that prescription, only artificial tears and painkillers. I never used the painkillers. Then I went back to the army and something happened: the living quarters were so dry that I think I got a scratch on my eye, and the pain was terrible. On my discharge day I went back to the hospital, and fortunately they said the scratch was on the white part of the eye, so it would be okay. Military uniform with sunglasses lol For about a month, it was uncomfortable. The recovery period really does seem long. Friends around me who had SMILE LASIK or lens implantation recovered much faster. After surgery, my vision was 1.0 in both eyes. For the first 1 to 2 years after surgery, I didn’t even look at my phone in the dark, but these days I just do. At my health checkup late last year, my vision was still maintained. I’m still very satisfied. One eye was maybe 1.2? I don’t remember exactly. Since it hasn’t decreased, I guess I only vaguely remember it. I don’t have that dry feeling, and I don’t have glare. I have a car, and night driving is no problem at all. If you’re thinking about surgery or have questions, let me know!
