Overbite correction review

My teeth were not crowded or crooked or anything like that. I did not really feel there was anything unusual. But in middle school a friend said, 'Why is it that when you say eeee, your lower teeth do not show?' and that was when I realized something was off. Sometimes my lower teeth felt sensitive so I took medicine, but I did not think it was anything wrong. Then I went to the dentist and asked, and they said it was an overbite, so the pressure was going onto the lower teeth and making them sensitive, and that if it became very painful I should consider orthodontic treatment. After thinking it over, I got braces as an adult. My teeth were fairly aligned, so I did one year of treatment without extractions. It has now been 8 years since I finished orthodontic treatment, and I still wear my retainer because it is something you are supposed to do for life, but the result has been maintained well, and my teeth have never felt sensitive again. That probably means the sensitivity in my lower teeth really was because of the overbite. Anyway, orthodontic treatment was truly satisfying, and if I could go back, I would do it again.
