I wore contact lenses for over 5 years, and ahead of getting a job, I had SMILE LASIK. I went on a friend's recommendation, had a consultation in the morning, and got the procedure the same day. For about 2 hours it hurt like someone was stabbing my eyes with a needle, but after that there was only dryness and no real pain. If you keep putting in artificial tears frequently for 3 months, then now, more than a year later, I can go around very comfortably without any major dryness!!
