I had double jaw surgery because of malocclusion, and looking younger was a bonus lol

I am a patient who had double jaw and contouring surgery with Dr. Kim Jong-yoon at Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. I have been stressed about my malocclusion since I was young, but in the past I heard so many stories about double jaw surgery complications and how dangerous it was that I just put up with it and lived on. But lately I learned that double jaw surgery techniques have advanced a lot, and that it is no longer seen as an absolutely dangerous surgery like before, so I started looking into it again. I went to several well-known places for consultations and compared them, but Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery felt the most comfortable to me, and the surgeon's explanation was easy to understand, so I felt drawn there. I also watched a lot of YouTube videos from different clinics, and the videos from Iyu were helpful because the surgical process and recovery process felt realistic. In the actual consultation, Dr. Kim Jong-yoon explained my jaw condition and the double jaw surgery method in an easy-to-understand way, which made me trust him. Also, the fact that double jaw surgery can improve not only the facial line but also functional issues like malocclusion really resonated with me, so I ended up deciding on surgery here ^^ Now it's been one month, and honestly I did not expect one month to feel this long lol. Sometimes it feels like, has it already been a month? and other times like, has it only been one month? ^^; The swelling has not gone down as much as I thought, but as the doctors kept saying in the clinic's videos, it is ultimately a process that improves with time, so I am not too anxious. Sometimes when I compare the photos from before surgery, I can see that my mouth looks less protruded and my jaw line is more refined, which is kind of fascinating haha. It still is not completely natural yet, so I have not shown my face to people around me, and I plan to show them once I recover a bit more haha. I am going back soon for my one-month checkup, and I hope they tell me the bones have fused well and that recovery is going smoothly. The thing I am most disappointed about right now is that I still cannot eat freely... Still, the pain has not been as bad as I expected, and daily life is gradually becoming possible, so the recovery process for the double jaw surgery seems pretty manageable overall~ The swelling also seems to change little by little, so I am still waiting. For those worrying about double jaw surgery or double jaw contouring, I think the first month should just be treated as a recovery period and you should not get too impatient. Overall, I am satisfied ^^
