Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

A case with a jaw disc problem, and a review of returning to daily life after double-jaw surgery^^

I am now 3 months out after double-jaw surgery with contouring at I-U Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, performed by Director Shin Hee-jin. Because of my Class 2 malocclusion, I had a habit of pulling my short lower jaw forward when eating and speaking for a long time, and over time it started putting more and more strain on my jaw In the end, the jaw kept making sounds and slipping out repeatedly, and later I even felt like the jaw was coming out while talking, so I knew I could not put it off any longer and started looking into surgery! The examination showed that I was a case that needed double-jaw surgery, and the left jaw disc was already significantly displaced and worn down, so functional improvement was needed as well! Since I was going to have surgery anyway, I thought correcting the cheekbones and chin, which had always been my complexes, at the same time would improve the overall balance, so I went ahead with double-jaw plus contouring. I learned about I-U Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery through YouTube and cafes, and after looking through many reviews and videos and visiting a few places for consultations, this was the first place where the examination process felt so systematic and detailed. It was not just a simple consultation; they explained everything based on precise tests, so I could understand my condition much more accurately, and Director Shin Hee-jin explained things realistically without exaggeration, which made me trust them and decide naturally. I am 3 months out now, and unless it is something very hard or chewy, I can eat most foods without any trouble, and daily life is almost completely comfortable. People around me mostly just say I lost weight, and they do not really notice that I had surgery When I look at photos, it is clear that my facial shape has become more organized, so personally I am very satisfied. I still do not have full sensation back in the area under the eyes, the cheekbones, or around the mouth, so there is still a slightly dull feeling, but this is also becoming more natural as time passes^^ My mouth opening is now comfortable enough to fit about two fingers, so it keeps getting better, and overall the recovery is progressing steadily! Functionally, the biggest change is that I no longer feel like my jaw is slipping out like before, and my face shape feels naturally refined, so I think choosing double-jaw surgery together with contouring was the right result in the end. Once the orthodontic treatment is finished properly, I think it will become even more complete, so I am looking forward to that~!
