My teeth were not crooked or anything, but I decided to get orthodontic treatment because my mouth protruded and my front teeth came in crooked. At first I only wanted to do the upper teeth, but I was advised to do the lower teeth as well, and I decided not to have any extractions. The doctor checked in frequently, and at each visit we discussed and adjusted together how to proceed, which I liked. Even though I wondered if I was being foolish to do this in my mid-30s, comparing the photos from the beginning made me realize how much had changed, and I regret not doing it sooner. The downside is that I go once a month, but after the wire is tightened, it hurts for more than a week. Ugh. And because a black triangle formed, they said we should solve that part with minimal tooth reduction.
