I had pin removal surgery, and the doctor and the operating room nurses were all so kind and skilled. I had the pins removed under sedation, and the surgery ended very quickly. The swelling was also much less than they had said, so I was surprised. (But I think I am an unusual case.) But the real problem was the consultation and patient management. Even when setting the surgery date, there were lots of small issues, and they did not explain the pre-op precautions. (Existing medications, no supplements or alcohol from 1 week before surgery, fasting including water from n hours before surgery.) They did not tell me information that a patient should not have to discover on their own, and when I asked the day before surgery, only then did they send one photo. I replied right away, but after that they did not read my KakaoTalk messages. During the pre-surgery consultation right before the operation, I asked why no instructions had been given and whether they should not have informed me. They shifted the responsibility onto the patient, saying, “Honestly, isn’t that information you already know? It should be something you naturally know...”. If they had simply admitted poor patient management and apologized, it would have been something I could let go, but their response was incomprehensible. I was already taking medication, and right before surgery I asked the director, who said it was fine, so the surgery went well. But if it had been a medication that could not be taken, what would they have done...? I do not trust them, T_T. The surgery result, swelling, the director, the operating room nurses, and the price were all satisfactory, but the consultation staff and front desk staff were so insincere and irresponsible. A few years ago, they took such good care of patients before and after surgery, and the consultation was also very thorough, so I was shocked by how much they have changed.
