It has already been 3 months since I had WYG Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery’s double-jaw surgery and facial contouring x2 procedures (square jaw, chin) on December 17, 2025~~The week after surgery felt like time would never pass.. I was flooded with worries about swelling, sensation, and everything else, but now that I’m at the 3-month mark, those worries and anxieties have mostly faded. When I was very young, my bite was normal and there was no malocclusion, but after puberty, my jaw gradually became longer and projected forward, turning into a malocclusion case.I ate much more slowly than other people, and I couldn’t even imagine biting food off with my front teeth, so I would touch the food with my tongue and tear it off with my tongue. That’s why I never got to say, “Just one bite~” to my friends. And because I had a prognathic jaw, I was very stressed about my appearance. Other people made fun of me with names like jaw face, cucumber, and patterned celadon, and because of that I didn’t want to let anyone see my side profile, so I used to go around covering my chin with a mask or keeping my mouth open so my jaw would look a little less prominent, and now it’s already changed this much hahaMy sensation has returned everywhere except for the left lower jaw. I was told it can take up to a year for all sensation to come back, so I’m planning to wait patiently. Before surgery I was worried about my side profile, so when others looked at me I tried to hide it, but now I’m more used to living without worrying about my side profile. I was feeling down because it seemed like the swelling wasn’t going down, but it really did keep slowly coming down~ I took photos once a day, and comparing them with photos from other dates, I realized it had been going down without me noticing~ hahaAfter getting double-jaw surgery and going to school, my friends really praised me for having done it well and said I looked softer and cuter, which I heard a lot. Now chewing has become fairly natural too, so apart from things that are too hard or too chewy, I can eat almost anything~ The joy of eating is making me gain weight too lol I’ll keep recovering, waiting for the swelling to go down, and doing well from here on out 😁
