Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Five months after jaw surgery for a receding chin and protruding mouth, and I keep forgetting I had it done

Before surgery, I had a receding chin and a very protruding mouth, so I felt stressed every time I looked at my side profile T_T. On top of that, my midface looked sunken too, so I had an overall sulky expression, and my side profile in particular bothered me a lot ㅡㅡㅠ. After thinking about it, I eventually had double jaw surgery at [Clinic A]. At first I worried a lot about the swelling and recovery. Right after surgery it was pretty hard, but around week 4 the pain was almost gone, and compared with week 1 it was amazing how much the swelling had gone down lol. Once I knew it would keep improving, I started looking forward to the future. More than anything, being free of the stress caused by my protruding mouth made me happiest haha. From around month 4, I could basically do all normal daily activities without any problem, and there wasn’t anything in particular that felt inconvenient. Eating and speaking also gradually became more natural, and it felt like only the pin removal was left? It’s already been 5 months, and time really feels like it’s flying lol. Most of the sensation in the surrounding areas has come back, and now my face feels less like a surgery result and more like my own face again. Before, I kept worrying about my side profile and the way my mouth stuck out, but now that stress has gone down a lot, so I’m satisfied 😊 It’s not completely finished yet, but so far I’ve been doing well without any major discomfort, and I think the biggest feeling is that I’m glad I went through with it!
