Since I was young, I had a lot of stress because of my malocclusion, so I thought about surgery for a long time. At 2 weeks, the stitches were removed, and I kept doing mouth exercises steadily every morning, noon, evening, and before bed while watching the video they sent. At first I could barely open my mouth, but as it gradually improved, by around week 3 I had recovered enough to fit about two finger widths, and I could slowly start eating soft foods.
By around 1 month, my stamina and pronunciation had improved a lot, and I was able to eat soft foods that could be chewed. As time passed, I felt like the recovery speed was getting faster and faster.
Now, at 3 months, daily life has become so much easier that I can eat almost all kinds of food. I’m still being careful with hard or chewy foods, but I’m living without major inconvenience in everyday life. I can also open my mouth enough to almost fit three fingers! At first I thought most of the swelling had gone down, but when I looked back at old photos, I could feel that my facial line was becoming more natural and slimmer over time. It’s not completely finished recovering yet, but the parts I worried about before surgery have improved a lot, so I’m living with satisfaction.
