Since I was little, I had a receding chin and protruding mouth, so I had protrusion correction at age 10 and receding-chin correction at age 16. Both treatments were done at the same place, and because the orthodontist was a specialist, they definitely took care of me better and it felt more professional. Everyone should go to an orthodontic specialist for braces. When I was correcting my receding chin, I had 4 teeth extracted, and pulling out healthy teeth felt really awful and painful, but maybe because of that, even when my wisdom teeth came in, they still seem to just do the job of molars. But the effect is really good. Everyone should get orthodontic treatment. It’s expensive, but it’s worth the price. And you have to brush your teeth properly, otherwise the gums recede.. speaking from experience. I was told it’s best to just keep wearing the retainer, so I’m still wearing it.
