These days, every time I look in the mirror, my face looks a little different, so I end up staring at it one more time! It has now been two months since I had double jaw surgery from Dr. Kim Jong-yun at Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During recovery, time felt like it was dragging, but looking back, it actually passed so quickly. So although it’s only been two months, I’m going to write a review to record the changes I’ve felt so far. The biggest reason I decided to have surgery was my appearance in candid photos In particular, my gummy smile when I laughed and my long face were always on my mind, and in photos taken with other people, those parts stood out even more, so I gradually started avoiding taking photos altogether. Before I knew it, I was in my late 20s, and seeing that I barely had any photos left made me really sad. I wanted to overcome this complex with double jaw surgery before it got any later! When I was looking for a hospital, I focused more on reviews showing improvement in long faces and gummy smiles like mine, rather than cases of underbites or facial asymmetry. Then I found a case similar to mine from a surgery done by Dr. Kim Jong-yun, and after actually consulting with him, I felt I could trust him, so I ultimately decided to go ahead Since my concerns were more cosmetic than functional, I cared most about safety and the natural direction I wanted, and I felt that Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was the place that best matched both safety and aesthetics!! At the one-month mark, honestly, swelling was what bothered me most. My face originally had almost no cheek fat, so it felt very strange that swelling made my cheeks look puffy, but I kept telling myself that once this swelling settled a little more, my face line would settle beautifully, so every time I looked in the mirror I was just waiting for the day the swelling would go down!! The hospital also told me that from one month onward, I could eat soft foods, so I slowly started to recover the joy of eating again I also kept practicing opening my mouth by watching the jaw exercise video they sent me, and now I can comfortably fit about two fingers in. My mouth was already on the small side and my jaw joint wasn’t in great shape, so I wasn’t too worried, and I felt relieved seeing my range of motion gradually widen. I also thought that if the next checkup showed an X-ray and I was told the bone was healing well, I’d feel even more at ease! And before I knew it, it was the two-month mark. For a while, it felt like the swelling had stopped going down, so I thought I’d hit a plateau at last! But what was so amazing was that starting this week, my face shape began to sharpen again in a way that was noticeably visible, and it was really surprising Maybe because I didn’t give up during the plateau and kept doing cycle exercise at home and maintaining aerobic exercise, I feel like it definitely helped!! Now I’ve recovered enough to eat meat comfortably, and I’m even using this chance to manage my weight at the same time~~ I’m only still a little careful with foods like hamburgers that require opening my mouth wide, and other than that I can eat almost everything without much discomfort. The awkward swelling that remained in my cheeks has also naturally moved downward, and I can see my face shape settling more and more, so I’m very satisfied!! People around me also think I just gained a little cheek fat, to the point that people who don’t know about the surgery can’t tell anymore, and even though I’m satisfied already, I’m really excited to see how much more it will change at 3 months and 4 months!!!
