It has already been one year since I had double jaw + contouring surgery with Director Shin Hee-jin at Yigugang Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Time really seems to have passed so quickly. At first I worried a lot about when the swelling would go down and whether recovery would go well, but before I knew it, a year had passed and the result had settled in so naturally that there is almost no sign I had surgery. Now every time I look in the mirror, I feel that I really made the right decision to have the surgery, and my level of satisfaction is very high.
The part I am most satisfied with is definitely the facial proportions. As the long midface, which had been my biggest complex, improved naturally, my whole face looks much shorter and more balanced. Once the swelling fully went down, my facial line became clearer and more defined, and both the front view and side profile became naturally pretty, so I am happy from any angle in photos. In particular, the asymmetry that used to bother me improved a lot, so when I see photos, my face looks much more stable, which makes me very satisfied.
The change when I smile feels really big too. Before, I was often conscious of my teeth alignment and would smile with my mouth covered, but now I can smile confidently and brightly. As my mouth shape also became naturally refined, I often hear that my impression looks much softer and brighter. People around me also often say my eyes look bigger and that my face looks smaller, so I have gained a lot more confidence in my appearance than before.
Most of all, what I like the most is that it looks truly natural. If I do not say I had surgery, most people would have no idea, and that subtle, not-overdone change is what I am happiest about. The functional aspect is also stable, with my bite maintained well, and I can eat freely and live daily life comfortably without any inconvenience.
What I felt most strongly while recovering over the past year is that satisfaction keeps increasing as time passes. Both the functional issues and the external complexes that made me decide on surgery in the first place have improved a lot, and I even gained confidence, so I am truly happy. Thanks to Director Shin Hee-jin at Yigugang Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, who designed everything naturally and in harmony, I still feel satisfied to this day. I hope it continues to stay well for a long, long time.
