Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

12-month review of asymmetry correction

This is my review at 12 months into treatment. It has already been almost a year since I started orthodontic treatment. It has not been that long, but the external results seem quite noticeable. What I am most satisfied with is that when I look at photos taken by other people now, the asymmetry is not as conspicuously obvious as it used to be. In the past, when someone else took a photo of me, I would always check my jaw first, but now I do not have to do that anymore, which makes me so happy. Of course, there is still some slight asymmetry and my bite is not fully aligned yet, so I can only eat with one molar on one side, which is inconvenient. I work a lot of late nights, and when I wear the braces, it is not just the appearance but also the way my speech gets muffled, so people who do not know the situation seem to think I pulled a wisdom tooth or am speaking with candy in my mouth. So in real life, when I have to talk a lot or cooperate with other people, it is not easy to keep wearing the braces all the time. I am already very used to wearing them, so falling asleep with them in is not uncomfortable at all now. It is a little inconvenient to wash them with dish soap when taking them out and putting them back in, but compared with the stress I used to have from my asymmetry, that is not really an issue. I will keep posting updates next time too.
