Actual Atcol story

After my first surgery with silicone and ear cartilage, I developed inflammation after 3 years. I had only the silicone removed, and 6 months later I underwent treatment with Atcol + scaffold thread at a hospital called Bagel 365. That was a full 10 years ago T_T Not long after that, the hospital disappeared, and I heard reviews saying the director had gone abroad T_T I lived forgetting about it, but a month ago a pimple-like bump appeared on the bridge of my nose. I got a steroid injection and waited for it to subside, but instead it kept swelling. Just in case, I visited a nearby plastic surgery clinic. After hearing about the Atcol treatment, they said the inflammation was probably caused by a foreign substance and recommended removal as soon as possible. So I looked around and had consultations at clinics in Sinsa-dong and Suwon. Both were fine, but after hearing that once the foreign substance is removed, contracture will inevitably occur because of the inflammation, and that a revision surgery would only be possible at least 6 months later, I felt so depressed about the thought of living with a mask all that time T_T But when I heard that surgery with autologous dermis could be done before contracture developed, I decided to go ahead with foreign-body removal and revision rhinoplasty using autologous dermis in Suwon. The director gave me an extremely long and detailed consultation, which made me trust them even more T_T They explained everything in such detail that I even wondered if it was okay to spend that long on a consultation!! They’ve been doing rhinoplasty, and only autologous dermis at that, for 20 years, which made me trust them again T_T So we set the surgery date, and yesterday they removed the Atcol, threads, and ear cartilage that were showing through the tip of my nose via an open approach. There was less swelling than I expected and not much bruising either. The manager and nurses were so kind, and holding my hand during the surgery was such a huge comfort T_T I think this rhinoplasty will be my last, and I’m praying that the revision surgery in 5 days goes well T_T I’ll post another update after the surgery^^
