At some point, only my left eye started forming a double eyelid line that was getting extremely high, and I thought that if I left it alone, my eyes might end up uneven later, so I looked into clinics. But because it was right before Lunar New Year, it was hard to even book consultations at some of the more well-known clinics. Still, I booked consultations and visited two somewhat famous clinics and Leo Plastic Surgery, which was recommended a lot here. Honestly, at first I was thinking, should I maybe not get surgery at all? But after the first clinic told me, through someone described as an authority on male eye surgery, that I really should get the surgery, I started thinking I needed to do it as soon as possible. But the price there was too high, and even a 3-month installment plan would still go over my budget, so I decided I'd need to consult another clinic. Of course, among the three places I visited, the line they suggested during the consultation at the first clinic was the one I liked best. So at the next place, they said the total would be almost half the price of the first clinic. The consultation was free, and the staff were very kind, everything was good, but the problem was that the line the director recommended was just not my taste at all. So at the last place, Leo, the consultation price was right around the upper limit of what I had in mind, the line didn't seem bad, and more than anything I really wanted to have the surgery before Lunar New Year, so I just decided to go with them and paid the deposit. The big surgery day came, and suddenly I thought I wanted to do epicanthoplasty as well, so I asked, is my face suitable for epicanthoplasty? They said it should be fine and that if I prefer eyes that are longer horizontally, then that's a reason to do it. So I said, then please do the epicanthoplasty too, paid the extra fee, and had it done as well. Because I thought that handsome people usually have horizontally long eyes, so I wanted my eyes to look longer too. After the surgery ended, I looked in the mirror and honestly felt my heart sink. It wasn't the face I knew, it was so swollen, and there was really some monster-like thing in the mirror in front of me. Ah, I shouldn't have done the epicanthoplasty. The swelling was of course something that can happen, but my impression looked completely different too, and I went home feeling depressed, thinking, ah, this isn't what I imagined at all. But of course I was hoping it would look different once the swelling went down, so from that day on I searched YouTube intensely for ways to reduce swelling and followed everything. I walked for one hour twice a day, did cold compresses for 10 minutes every hour, drank danggwisusan, dio line, pumpkin and red bean tea, selenium, warm water, and used a very high pillow, and with all that the swelling did go down for sure. But the thing that almost made me lose my mind was that the swelling went down unevenly, so it was a little dizzying. Because the left and right sides were different like a Picasso painting, it felt so awkward. But after the stitches were removed, the swelling kept going down, and after getting the swelling injections and swelling laser treatments at the clinic, the asymmetry almost disappeared and the line came down a lot, so now I think my face is at least presentable. When I looked at old photos again while writing this, I was reminded once more that my eyes used to be this weak and small. Now I'm living with high hopes that once the swelling goes down more, I'll have even prettier eyes. At first I was very resentful, but now I truly thank you, doctor.
