My eyes were originally on the small side. That itself bothered me, but what was more uncomfortable was that because my eye-opening strength was weak, I developed the habit of opening my eyes with my forehead without realizing it. So I ended up with fairly deep forehead wrinkles for my age. On top of that, my eyelashes curled inward and kept poking my eyes, which was surprisingly inconvenient in daily life. My eyes were often bloodshot too. As all of these things piled up, I started looking into surgery because it was not only about appearance but also a functional inconvenience. Honestly, I did wonder if a man having eye surgery was a bit over the top, but when I asked people around me, they said it is common for men these days too, so I felt a bit more at ease. What I was worried about, though, was whether the surgery would look obvious afterward or whether I would end up with an overly heavy double eyelid. I looked into a few hospitals and made a consultation appointment at Gift Plastic Surgery. When I went, Dr. Yoo Gi-hyeon and the manager each consulted with me separately, and I liked that. Usually, when you go to a hospital, you only talk with the manager and see the doctor briefly on the day of surgery, but here the doctor personally checked my eye condition carefully and explained why I needed not only double eyelid surgery but also ptosis correction and epicanthoplasty together. He told me that if you only create a double eyelid when the eye-opening muscles are weak, the line may not come out properly, and that made sense to me. The manager also explained the surgical process, recovery period, and precautions one by one, and the atmosphere itself was comfortable, so it was easy to ask questions. I am usually the type to feel tense at hospitals, but here I could ask without pressure. After the consultation, I decided on this place without going anywhere else. It has been about 2 months since the surgery now, and my eyes are definitely bigger. People around me also say my impression has changed. But what I feel most strongly is that opening my eyes has become easier. Before, when I woke up in the morning, my eyes felt heavy, and I had to strain my forehead all day just to open them normally. Now they open naturally. Since the habit of opening my eyes with my forehead has almost disappeared, the forehead wrinkles have also clearly decreased compared to before. The functional improvement is really noticeable. Because I also had epicanthoplasty, the horizontal width of my eyes became wider, but it was opened just enough without being excessive, so overall my eyes look refreshed. The double eyelid line was also naturally shaped in an in-out style, so it does not look awkward at all. The swelling had mostly gone down after about a month and a half, and now it is almost fully settled. The eyelashes that used to poke my eyes are gone now too. Honestly, what I worried about most before surgery was becoming unnatural. But looking at the result, it came out naturally and well, and people around me who do not know I had surgery just think these are my natural eyes. Their reaction is basically, "Something looks different, but what is it?" which is exactly the result I wanted. Functionally, being able to open my eyes more easily and having less forehead wrinkling is a big deal, and aesthetically I am satisfied too. I think Dr. Yoo Gi-hyeon adjusted the combination well for my eye condition, and I am glad I did it at Gift Plastic Surgery. If there are any men who are worrying about their eyes like I was, I think this will be helpful.
