Eye Surgery Reviews

[Doctor Romi] Community review

This was my second revision eye surgery, and I went for a consultation because the sausage-like appearance had not gone away. I was told that since more than a year had passed since the revision surgery, another surgery was possible. Since I had already had surgery on my eyes twice, a lot of skin had been removed during the previous surgery, so they did not recommend cutting between the existing creases because my eyes might close less completely. Instead, the doctor explained a method of creating a new crease with a double-line incision and releasing the existing adhesions. At first I was worried because there was a lot of talk about the double-line incision and I feared being left with two scars. But the doctor said my current scar was a false scar caused by adhesions, so once the adhesions were released, the chance of having two remaining scars was low, which reassured me somewhat. I have only now learned that sausage eyes are not just about appearance; functional aspects must also be considered because of the thickened tissue. I am still deliberating because this would be a second revision surgery, but my thoughts changed a lot after the consultation. The doctor talks quite a lot, so I recommend going at the end or leaving some time between appointments.
