I’d looked up a lot of reviews about donated rib cartilage before my surgery too, so I’m leaving this in case it helps someone. I had a slightly hooked bridge and a drooping nose tip. I didn’t want to use septal cartilage, so from the start I consulted about donated rib cartilage or ear cartilage, and in the end I went with a donated rib cartilage support + ear cartilage nose tip. My original nose tip cartilage was small, so they said just repositioning the cartilage might feel a bit lacking, so we decided to use support. The thing people ask about most is sagging and height loss, and I haven’t felt either at all so far. Since it’s donated rib cartilage, I worried it might weaken over time, but it still feels like the shape has been well maintained. I didn’t shave down the bridge, only raised it. Even if the nose tip lowers a little, I think that would be okay. At first the feel was a bit firm, but over time it became much softer. Even if I move the nose tip slightly side to side, there’s almost no discomfort or foreign-body sensation. But I can’t pinch a pig nose. Still, maintaining the shape mattered more to me than that, so it didn’t bother me much. The shape isn’t a super flashy style either, and I think it came out naturally and nicely. People around me hardly ask if I had my nose done; they mostly just say I look prettier. (I met my mom after a month, and I had kept the nose surgery secret, but she didn’t know.) The price was honestly on the expensive side for a first surgery. But it was a surgery I only wanted to do once, so I wanted to do it safely, and I’m satisfied with the result, so I don’t feel like it was a waste of money now. I hope this helps people who, like me, are worried about donated rib cartilage because they don’t want to use septal cartilage. At least so far, I’m satisfied and have had no sagging or height loss! People say it lowers after 2 years, but even at a little over 2 years, I haven’t felt that at all!
