With the wedding venue booked for next year and the wedding photo shoot getting closer, I started to feel really pressed for time.. I have a habit of resting my chin on my hand while looking at a monitor at work, so I hadn’t noticed it before, but when I took some test photos, you know, the lower part of the face... the area below the face started to look blurrier and blurrier T_T... In particular, the fat around the jowls beside my mouth was sagging, so my face from the front looked really heavy and made me look older, which showed up very clearly...
At first I looked into contour injections, chiropractic-style facial massage, and laser lifting, which many brides-to-be do, but I didn’t have the confidence to keep going regularly until the wedding, and I figured the effect wouldn’t be dramatic enough anyway, so I decided to go with a mini facelift! Rather than wasting money half-heartedly, I thought it’d be better to clearly clean up the line.
I got the hospital recommendation from an acquaintance and had a consultation with Dr. Jang Woo-seok at [Clinic A], and he seemed like a very objective person who didn’t push exaggerated recommendations~ He looked at my skin elasticity and the degree of sagging, then said we should lightly lift and secure the areas I was worried about most, mainly the jowls beside my mouth and the blurred jawline, to smooth out the overall line. He pointed out exactly the areas I was worried about, which felt a little awkward but also strangely satisfying lol
After the surgery, the major swelling went down faster than I expected, so it didn’t interfere with working at all, and because it wasn’t a big dissection like a full facelift, but only a small incision in the front of the ear for the necessary areas, the recovery speed was definitely manageable!
At first the surgical area felt a bit sore and numb, but that sensation gradually eased over time, so it wasn’t something that bothered me much? Now, as you can see from the before-and-after photos, the heavy jowl fat and the line around the jowls beside my mouth have been neatly refined from the front!! The line down to the chin has become smoother, so when I look in the mirror or take photos, the lower face looks much lighter and my impression feels more refined! Ah~~ now I think I can prepare for the wedding photoshoot with peace of mind haha
