If it doesn't feel like the right eye surgery, I recommend early correction - my mom's revision eyelid surgery review

First of all, my mom had incision double eyelid surgery a long time ago when she was young, and after that she only had lower eyelid surgery and a brow lift to that extent. But as she got older, her eyes gradually started to sag more and more, and she was stressed about it, so I had looked into double eyelid surgery with her. I thought middle-aged eyes are different from ordinary double eyelid surgery, so we went to a lot of consultations together, but for some reason my mom became fixated on one place and had surgery there (I can't say the clinic name... T_T). At other places, they said she needed upper eyelid surgery, but there they said it would be fine to do incision + ptosis correction together. They said that would also hold up the sagging part well... I guess she liked that part T_T I just thought, well, since my mom really liked it, I let her go ahead with the surgery. But the result was a total disaster The line was completely uneven and everything was a mess.. My mom kept saying it seemed wrong, and... Even to me it looked strange... Even if it was swelling, the line looked way too strange and the mucosa was showing too. In the end, she got an aftercare correction at that clinic one month later. But it got even worse... The eyes became uneven, and the line was caught like sausages.... My mom was completely stressed out saying how she was supposed to live with eyes like that. Honestly, even I looked at it and felt so upset... My dad was also in an uproar. To be honest, calling it aftercare is one thing, but going through anesthesia again and again is no small matter, either. At the clinic, they said to just wait until the swelling goes down for now and then do a revision after 6 months. But how is she supposed to wait with eyes like that..... My mom already doesn't lose swelling easily, and she was crying and freaking out nonstop..... Waiting 6 months sounded too hard, and honestly I didn't think the swelling would go down even after that......... So I kept looking into clinics that could do early correction.. Some clinics said they couldn't and told us to get surgery again at the original clinic after 6 months...... (Most clinics don't like to do revision surgery when the first surgery did not go well, because they worry about problems and having to take the blame...) Among them, there was one place that did early correction (Clinic A), so she got revision surgery there in about a month and a half. She also had an early recovery injection along with it. Fortunately, the early correction done at this clinic went well, so her eyes became normal..... The photo now is from 3 months later, when the swelling has gone down to some extent. The sausage-like eyes and the overcorrection have improved a lot, right? My mom said she really dodged a bullet. If we had not done early correction and had waited the full 6 months, it could have been a disaster. It really felt like we went back and forth between heaven and hell several times within a month Still, I'm really relieved.. From now on, I feel like I need to be much more careful when looking into surgery for my mom or for anything else To summarize the timeline: Revision incision surgery + ptosis correction in February Re-correction on both sides in early March as aftercare---everything was done at one clinic, and I can't reveal which clinic it was.... And the post-op photos now are of the successful early correction done at Clinic A here. She received early correction from the chief surgeon. Anyway, so many dramatic things happened that I wanted to share this story... Honestly, if the surgical result does not feel right, it may be better to do early correction rather than wait too long.
