Eye Surgery Reviews

Review after eye surgery

I had double eyelid removal surgery.I did have a lot of the double eyelid line lowered, but there was still something a bit intense about my eyes, so it feels somewhat artificial. That is why, even now after quite some time has passed, people still often tell me I look like someone who had double eyelid surgery. What I still cannot understand is this: I went in and asked them to release the eye-opening correction, but they said there was nothing to release because the eye-opening correction had been done by less than 1 mm. If that was the case, I do not understand why they recommended eye-opening correction, took my money, and had me go through surgery. Usually they should say whether they will do only a very small amount of eye-opening correction and let you decide, right? Or at least tell you, 'I think you would be better off not doing it,' and give you options, no? It was an eye that already had eye-opening correction to begin with, so I do not know why they made me do it by less than 1 mm. The eye-opening correction was not cheap either. I think the doctor tends to communicate poorly. Still, this is a surgery where they literally use a scalpel, but there was no detailed explanation such as how many millimeters they would do; they seemed to just look at it roughly. The person doing the surgery should be the one to explain first, things like whether skin would be removed, how much eye-opening correction would be done, and how far the incision would go. If the patient does not know anything, how are they supposed to ask the right questions? If I had been told in advance, I would not have had the surgery or could have prevented this, but that was not possible. Because the first surgery result was strange, I even had a revision treatment and ended up wasting a lot of time and money. After the revision treatment, the line was much lower, but the swelling lasted a long time, and even after time passed, I am still bothered by the scar and by the fact that my eyes open wide without me noticing, making them look intense. It has been quite a while since the surgery, but the things I went through have left me mentally hurt. That is disappointing.
