Nose Surgery Reviews

Review of [Clinic A]

I went to [Clinic A] for a consultation about revision nose surgery. I was recommended osteotomy. They explained the pros and cons of autologous costal cartilage and donor costal cartilage, but said absorption of donor cartilage is hit or miss. Of course that may be true, but it made me wonder if they weren't confident about using donor cartilage. They said they do only one surgery per day, which I liked, and I asked whether there was an anesthesiologist. They said they don't need one because they don't do general anesthesia, but it felt a little dismissive? That was disappointing. The estimate for autologous costal cartilage was around 10 million won, and donor costal cartilage was in the 9 million won range. Rather than explaining things by looking at my nose in the mirror and going through each point, they only talked based on the CT scan, so as a non-medical person it was a bit hard for me to understand. The manager proudly said the autologous costal cartilage harvest only requires a 1.5 cm incision. Their aesthetic sense doesn't match mine, so I probably won't have the surgery.
