I am in my late 20s.
After graduating high school from 2019 to 2021, when the double-eyelid surgery boom was happening, many people around me had double eyelid surgery. Among those friends, the one I thought turned out the best had surgery with Dr. Ahn Byung-jun, so I also ended up getting it done here this time.
This was not the first clinic I considered. I went after consulting at another clinic, and I liked that he had a very firm personal philosophy. At the clinic I consulted with before, they said the original double-eyelid line would not disappear and would just become a two-line fold, and if it were not for that part, I would have had the surgery there. Dr. Ahn Byung-jun said the original double-eyelid line would disappear, so I decided to do it. I wanted a back canthoplasty, and I liked that the doctor explained in detail why he would not do it and why he was against it, so I ended up deciding not to do the back canthoplasty. He definitely has a preferred surgical method and eye type, but I actually trusted him more because of that.
However, the consultation manager was a bit... not great because she spoke as if she were the doctor, saying things like, 'Ah, this is why we have to do it this way.' Even if she had long experience and knew a lot, it did not feel like the manager's job, but the doctor's..? The staff also were not exactly kind; it just felt like, 'I am a human and I am doing my job.' lol It was not unfriendly, but not friendly either.
As for the surgery, I had it under local anesthesia, and although sleep sedation was free, I did not choose it because I had a problem during a recent sedated endoscopy. They operated on my right eye first, then my left eye, and it stung and hurt when they worked on the left eye, so I guess I strained myself and bled a little.
It was my first time lying down in an operating room, and it just had a very clean feeling.
I thought the nurse in the operating room may have been new because the doctor was teaching while working, and that scared me a little lol. But since the surgery is done by the doctor anyway, I just held my heart together and relaxed.
After the surgery, when they showed me the mirror, I said what I did not like, and they immediately laid me back down and corrected it lollllllllll
