Low and wide nose, upturned nose tip, septal deviation, first surgery. This was my first consultation, and I received an astronomically high estimate. I had a strong aversion to foreign implants, so I said I only wanted autologous tissue for the surgery, and they said costal cartilage could be used, but silicone would be recommended first... They said that even if silicone were placed in the bridge, ear cartilage and septal cartilage might not be enough, so they would open the nose first and, if there was not enough, might use donated costal cartilage. If autologous rib cartilage were used, they said they would probably use autologous rib cartilage for the tip as well. There were many options, but since using multiple materials made me worry about complications (this is strictly my personal view), and the estimate came out much higher than I expected... after the consultation, I neatly gave up on the idea.
