I thought the more slanted left eye should be opened more and the somewhat rounder right eye should be opened less, but the doctor said the slant is about the same and the right eye just looks that way because it is more sunken, and that opening the right eye more and the left eye less would make the asymmetry match better.
I was also worried because of lower eyelid inversion, but they said the reason the outer ends of the lower lashes seemed to be turning upward was that the upper lashes were a bit lower, so it only looked that way and I didn’t need to worry much.
Because my eyes sit quite high, they recommended incisional surgery since it would definitely lower the outer corners, but when they saw I was hesitant as a first-timer, they said non-incisional surgery would also be fine. They also said some people do non-incisional surgery first and then switch to incisional surgery if they don’t like it (for AS within 1 year, they only charge the difference between incisional and non-incisional plus anesthesia).
There was no pressure or burden, and I could consult comfortably. The doctor was very warm and friendly. I’ll still visit the other hospitals I booked, but this has become one of my surgery candidates.
