I had surgery in Seoul and now live extremely far away in the countryside after getting married Since I live in a rural area, I believed it was just a sore nose and took only medication for three months. But when I went to a large ENT hospital in a nearby major city, they said there was inflammation. Looking at the CT, it apparently wasn’t just a deviated septum. Something like a plate was inserted, and they said I needed immediate exploratory surgery. They said they would only know what was inside after opening it and would help me process insurance.
I completed all preoperative tests and scheduled surgery three days later, but I was afraid to open it after seeing only one ENT doctor, so I postponed it to go to the original surgical hospital, find out what had been done, and look at my records. I don’t know whether the inflammation started because, after giving birth, a nose hair was sticking out and my husband plucked it, or because my body was exhausted and my immunity had fallen, causing inflammation from the nose surgery. My baby is seven months old, I have no time to rest, and I sometimes work from home too My body is exhausted
I want to visit several hospitals. I had the surgery when I knew nothing, so even now I don’t know what was done or what anything is Please recommend a hospital that will make an honest assessment. Is it an ENT hospital that can tell me whether medication is enough or whether surgery is necessary instead of automatically saying I need surgery? Or should I visit several plastic surgery hospitals? I’m terrified and don’t know what is right.
I only had the tip done 11 years ago. The original hospital seemed to have disappeared, perhaps because the doctors scattered, but when I searched here, a hospital where they are apparently still working came up. I called and explained, and the coordinator explained first because they had all my records. They said they had built up the nasal column with a partial incision using artificial dermis plus autologous dermis, using the septum. They said this was not the kind of surgery that would cause inflammation after more than 10 years, and that they absolutely did not put in a plate, silicone, or anything else in the tip. They said putting something like that in the tip would be a serious problem, and since I had inflammation, I should come in soon for an examination and consultation with the doctor. I said it would be difficult to wait long because my baby is young, so they said they would minimize the waiting time for a same-day appointment and told me to come for an examination as soon as possible. My in-laws are coming Friday to look after the baby, so I’m going for the examination.
But after reading posts here and there, I see people saying not to trust only the original hospital and to visit several places. I don’t know where or how to go If it is inflammation, would it be better to go to a place known for reconstruction? The famous places seem to be [Clinic A], [Clinic B], [Clinic C], and [Clinic D]. Would they make an honest judgment? Please recommend a hospital that will explain honestly whether surgery is definitely necessary or whether medication is sufficient when I visit because of inflammation. Please
