Review on the Day of One-Type Cheekbone Surgery

<Reason for Surgery>

This reason-for-surgery section is TMI, so you can skip it and start from <Day of Surgery>

My cheekbones weren't that big or prominent, so it wasn't quite a complex (I very occasionally heard that my face shape was pretty, and I already had a somewhat oval face), but I wanted to look good in photos, make my face look smaller, reduce the width, and slightly correct the asymmetry = tidy up the overall facial line, so I decided to have surgery.

(Actually, my jaw is rotated (C-shaped), and because of that my cheekbones look asymmetrical. Double-jaw surgery is too major, so the goal was to reduce one cheekbone a bit more to soften it.)

First of all, I was worried that sagging, fear, cost, and a difficult recovery period might outweigh what I would gain, so I only had a consultation a year ago and ended up not doing it. But I kept thinking about it, and in 2023 this year I had more time, so I firmly decided.

<Day of Surgery>

I went in around 1, they said anesthesia was starting, and within 5 seconds I fell asleep and then I was in the recovery room..

It really hurt so much. Nausea, facial pain I had never felt before, breathing felt tight, uncomfortable, my throat hurt, my whole body was twisted upㅠ For one-type cheekbone surgery, you don't get hospitalized, but I was really wondering whether I could go home... I didn't have a guardian either. I had to take a taxi for 40 minutes. I already looked pretty enough without doing it, so I regretted it so much, like what kind of luxury was I trying to enjoy, and I honestly wanted to die..

For reference, I've had breast surgery and removal too, and of course it varies by person, but comparing pain and discomfort: one-type facial contouring >>>>> breast Breast surgery (inframammary incision) hurt, made me nauseous, and was hard on the day of surgery, but I made the effort, wore a backpack, and went home by public transportation.

I have absolutely no intention of scaring people who are about to have surgery; this is just a factual review haha,, It was painful enough that I could write over 30 lines just saying it really hurt.. Since I had it done at an event price, I will leave another photo review at one week and one month, but this is just a real review I'm leaving because I'm bored and writing even this seems to make me feel a bit better.

Other reviews saying it doesn't hurt, or that it's only hard because you can't eat but there is no pain, or that aside from a sore throat from general anesthesia there is no pain at all, really!!! I think they were either very, very lucky, or reviews by hospital staff trying to give the image of, 'Don't be scared of facial contouring. Once you're anesthetized, it's over, and it's no big deal.' Or maybe it got romanticized around the one-month mark,, It really is a difficult major surgery that touches the bone.

This pain isn't like a burn where you're screaming aaah in agony, but the kind of pain that physically and mentally wears you down and makes you sensitive.

First of all, it wasn't enough of a complex for me to endure this, I wasn't as afraid as when I had breast surgery, I thought even if it hurt it would be about the same as breast surgery, and maybe I was unlucky? Anyway, maybe that's why it hurt even more.

Somehow I went into surgery around 1, and I don't know when the surgery ended, but I came out of the recovery room at 5:40. I left with a little bit of painkiller fluid still remaining. Seriously, it felt so stuffy, and I also got nosebleeds from time to time, which is expected.

This pain continued until midnight, and after that it seemed to get very slightly better little by little.
