First of all, my nose is crooked/has a hump, and the area between my eyebrows is a bit low, but the nasal dorsum itself isn’t low!
First, <consultation with Director ㄱㅈㅎ at ㅁㅂ> First of all, they said they can’t correct a crooked nose here! Since crooked-nose correction isn’t possible, they said that if silicone is inserted, the crookedness would stand out more, so they recommended shaving the hump and only raising the nasal tip. But of course, from the side profile, inserting silicone would look better, so they said that if I’m not too bothered by that kind of thing, I could also consider silicone. They said this was something I had to choose. They said that if silicone is inserted, around 3 or 3.5 mm should be enough. For materials, they said they would use septal cartilage/ear cartilage, and if I don’t use silicone, dermis from behind the ear! The visit schedule would be surgery on the same day/removal of nasal packing the next day/removal of the splint and stitches after one week. They said that if side effects occur, one free revision surgery is possible within one year.
So I thought I should look for a place that can correct a crooked nose, and the place I went to was <consultation with Director ㅇㅎㅎ at ㅈㅇㅌ> Here, they said crooked-nose correction is possible, and they said that if the hump is shaved, silicone absolutely has to be inserted. They said that if the hump is shaved and silicone isn’t inserted, from the front the hump area may protrude a bit to the side, and because shaving the hump would make the nasal bridge suddenly look much lower. But they said even with silicone, it shouldn’t be placed too high and should be around 2 or 2.5 mm (because my nasal dorsum isn’t low, if the silicone is too high, they would have to raise the nasal tip too much). For materials, they suggested septal cartilage/ear cartilage/silicone/donated costal cartilage. The visit schedule is surgery on the same day/removal of nasal packing the next day/removal of the splint after one week/check-up after one month. They said that if side effects occur, free revision surgery is possible within 6 months.
In conclusion, I decided to have surgery with Director ㅇㅎㅎ at ㅈㅇㅌ! First, they’re very famous for nose surgery, crooked-nose correction was possible, and during the first consultation they took a CT scan and when I talked with the director, they really recommended what would suit my nose and were very kind, so I felt I could trust them.. After the first consultation, I paid the deposit by phone and asked them to schedule me for the earliest possible date!! But honestly, after paying the deposit, I looked up nose surgery in detail and suddenly got really scared because of the side effects... So I wrote down the nose shape I want/things I was curious about/things I was scared of because of side effects, etc. on my iPad and went for another consultation, and the director looked at the iPad with me and answered everything one by one ㅋㅎㅋㅎㅋㅋㅋ The director is so kind and cute that I felt I made the right decision choosing this place~ They told me to bring the iPad with the nose I want organized on the day of surgery. They said I’ll have one more consultation before going into surgery anyway ㅎㅎㅎ I really hope it turns out as the natural-yet-defined straight-to-slightly-curved nose I want ㅎ I’ll leave another review after the surgery!!!
