My eyes are somewhat far apart, and because I also had monolids, the way my eyes occupied my face felt very cramped. I had kept thinking about double-eyelid surgery since I was young, but I kept putting it off because I was worried the crease might be set too high or look unnatural. Seeing friends who had double-eyelid surgery made me deliberate even more, because in some cases their eyes became bigger but looked disconnected from their faces T_T
So during the consultation, rather than simply asking for bigger eyes, I said I wanted them to become naturally more defined in a way that suited the distance between my eyes and my overall facial proportions. They reflected that well, and after surgery I wondered why I had not done it sooner lol. The best thing is that it is not just that my eyes got bigger; my whole vibe changed! Before, they strongly had that typical East Asian monolid-eye look at a glance, but now I cannot believe that adding one double-eyelid crease could make me look this sophisticated lol. I have started enjoying eye makeup too, and even bare-faced, my eyes look more defined than before, so I am very satisfied~
Now I only think that I did well to have it done, to the point that I wonder why I deliberated over it for years. This year, I feel happier than I have at any other time~
