Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

Review: asymmetry and malocclusion greatly improved after double-jaw surgery (4 months)

Before surgery, I was very stressed by facial asymmetry and malocclusion T_T. I worried that the left and right sides looked different from the front, but I especially had a strong complex about my profile, so I would subtly avoid profile shots when taking photos. Since the malocclusion also caused functional discomfort, I kept deliberating and eventually had surgery.

Because it was a major surgery, I was initially most worried about recovery and eating, but things became much easier one by one as time passed. At around two months, the improvement in asymmetry was clearly visible, and my profile, which I worried about most, looked much more natural and prettier than before, so I was satisfied haha. As my overall facial balance improved, my impression itself seemed a bit more refined.

At first there were many foods I had to be careful with, but after two months I could eat almost all foods without issue. Now, at about four months, I have almost no discomfort with regular meals. Daily life has become much easier because I no longer need to worry about this and that while eating! However, chewing very hard gummy candies still feels slightly uncomfortable, so I am only being careful with foods like that.

As time passes, the swelling goes down and my face becomes increasingly natural, so I think I can feel the change more clearly compared with before surgery. I also naturally lost weight during recovery, and as the reduced swelling and weight loss came together, the facial change felt much more dramatic haha.

At first I worried whether the result would turn out as I envisioned, but now the asymmetry has improved greatly and I like my profile, so I am truly satisfied with the outcome haha. Most of all, I think the best part is that the issues I deliberated over most before surgery have actually improved a lot. I expect it to look even more natural as more time passes after surgery, so I am looking forward to the changes ahead :)
