•I’m a man in my mid-20s. My nasal bridge is above the average for Korean men, so I wanted to raise only the tip. Thin nasal skin. I have a deviated septum. (No separate rhinitis or nasal congestion symptoms.) Short columella. I prefer a natural-looking nose over a flashy one.
•It’s also known for revision surgery, for doing strong, dramatic noses, and in general for being a very famous clinic, so I definitely wanted to get a consultation there at least once.. Because it’s so famous, consultations were backed up a lot. My original appointment was in June, but a cancellation slot suddenly opened yesterday, so I rushed over for a consult today haha (I also have a consultation booked at OO, but that place only has openings in September..^^ I probably won’t even get a cancellation slot there ㅜㅜ)
•Location: It’s right outside Exit 4 of Sinnonhyeon Station.. It’s across from Urban Hive (that SpongeBob-like building with all the holes), so people going to ㅂㅌ or ㄹㅂㄹ plastic surgery clinics should keep that in mind when planning their consultation routeㅋㅋㅋ
•Clinic environment: It’s a one-doctor clinic, so it’s small, but the interior was pretty stylish and cleanㅎ
•Consultation order: Photo shoot + CT scan + a short consult with the manager (probably just brief questions for the virtual surgery preview..) -> Surgeon consultation -> Manager consultation
•Wait time: Maybe because it’s such a famous clinic, there were a lot of people.. (all women.. I was the only man ㅜㅜ) The wait time was also extremely longㅋㅋ All plastic surgery clinics are like that, but this one was especially longㅜㅜㅜ Expect about 90 minutes just for waiting^^ (It was probably the longest among the clinics I visited for consultations..ㅜㅜ)
While I was waiting, I organized in my phone’s notes what I wanted to say to the surgeon, what I was curious about, and what style I wanted..ㅋㅋ **If you organize things like this in advance, you won’t forget what you wanted to ask, and you can communicate exactly what you want during the consult, which is niceㅎㅎ
•They also do something called a time-machine virtual surgery preview, where they predict what you’ll look like after surgeryㅋㅋㅋ They show it later during the consultation with the manager, and personally it helped me a lotㅋㅋ In my case, even just raising the nose tip a little changed my image completelyㅋㅋ It was fascinating, and it made me really look forward to what I’d look like after surgeryㅎㅎ (I didn’t realize there were that few clinics that do this.. Among the places I’ve visited so far, only ㅇㅇㄹㅇ near Gangnam-gu Office Station and here ㄷㄴ did itㅋㅋ)
•Friendliness: The surgeon seemed busy, but still explained everything I wanted to hear and answered all my questions..ㅎㅎ The manager was super super kindㅋㅋㅋ I had great back-and-forth with the manager, and the consultation with the manager went on for a really long timeㅋㅋㅋ She answered all kinds of questions well.. extremely kind and funㅋㅋㅋ
•Consultation details: Raise the nose tip a little with autologous costal cartilage, shave the hump a bit, and fill with ear cartilage.. Don’t use silicone in the bridge! Inferior turbinate?? Rhinitis surgery is included as a free service…
•Estimate: Autologous costal cartilage 6.4 million KRW (VAT 640,000) total 7.04 million KRW If nasal bridge bone shaving is done during surgery, an additional 330,000 KRW (VAT included). Same price whether by card or cash
•Consultation fee: None
•Review: I thought they would recommend all kinds of procedures since they specialize in dramatic, strong noses, but they only recommended the surgeries that were truly necessary, and did not recommend procedures that would look strange or unnatural if done. I liked that they only mentioned the procedures that were actually needed..
Among all the places I’ve visited so far, this one and surgeon ㅇㄱㅁ at ㅇㅂㅈ were the most appealing.. Their ideas for my desired nose shape and overall surgical direction were also the closest..
Personally, I also really like surgeon ㅇㄱㅁ himself at ㅇㅂㅈㅋㅋㅋ I watch surgeon ㅇㄱㅁ’s personal YouTube channel too, and he really seems like an honest doctorㅋㅋ
But the surgical direction and shape at ㄷㄴ are more appealing to me..ㅎㅎ
I’ll probably get my nose done either at ㅇㄱㅁ at ㅇㅂㅈ plastic surgery clinic or at ㄷㄴ..

<Consultation with surgeon ㄱㄱㅈ>
Me: My face looks broad, so I thought if I raise my nose a bit, my face might look more three-dimensional, which is why I’m considering nose surgery.
But please don’t make it too dramatic, flashy, or thin and sharp-looking. Please make it as natural as possible..
The nose shape I want is that slightly defined, gender-neutral, roundish nose, you know.. somewhere between a straight line and straight-ish??
And I want the tip to be a little rounded and slightly lowered..
Also, personally I think my nasal bridge isn’t bad, so I was wondering whether I should only do the tip?.. Or maybe, even though it isn’t a huge complex for me, I do have a bit of a hump, and since I’m doing it anyway, I was debating whether to put silicone in the bridge too, but I’m curious what you think, surgeon..
I want a nose like Park Bo-gum or Song Kang’s, but more like, this kind of feel?? I mean I want that image, but of course I have my own existing facial image, right??.. So I think it’d be fine to make it suitably natural to fit my own image...

Surgeon: Let’s raise the nose tip with septal cartilage, shave the hump a bit, and fill with ear cartilage..
If you want a nose like Song Kang or Park Bo-gum, you’d have to raise the bridge a bit with silicone, but your nasal skin is thin and your columella is short, so thinking long term, don’t be too greedy; I think it’s better to just do the tip.. That’ll look much more natural and better.. If you use silicone, it might show throughㅎ
If you raise the tip to match a hump nose, the nose will become too high and look strange, so don’t match the hump too closely; it needs to be raised to an appropriate degree..
If you shave the hump too much, the bridge gets too low, so I’ll only shave it appropriately..
It’s not the kind of nose that will change dramatically just from surgeryㅎㅎ
It looks like you may have a bit of sinusitis.. There is a slight deviated septum.. and the nose is a little asymmetrical too.. the inferior turbinate mucosa is swollen.. Even if you cut out the mucosa during surgery, there’s a high chance it will recur (I may not have fully understood because it was technicalㅋㅋ)
The surgeon did seem a bit busy, but still explained everything he wanted to say during the consultation and listened to me well tooㅎㅎ

Manager: Why do you want rhinoplasty? -> Me: My face looks broad, so I’m thinking about rhinoplasty because I thought raising my nose might make my face look more three-dimensional.. -> Manager: The nose is the center of the face, so if you raise it, your face really does look much more three-dimensionalㅋㅋ
Me: Should I do back/lower canthoplasty? -> Manager: You don’t need canthoplasty. Your pupils are small, so I don’t think you’ll end up with visible sclera on three sides.. Women can cover that with contact lenses and things like that.. Anyway, I don’t recommend back/lower canthoplastyㅎㅎ Don’t try to do everything all at once; I recommend doing each thing step by step.. First get eye correction and lower-eye fat repositioning!!
Me: What about lower eyelid fat grafting?? -> Manager: Do fat grafting after lower-eye rejuvenation and then see how things go later.. I don’t think fat grafting is really necessary. I’d recommend fillers over fat grafting.. For now, lower-eye rejuvenation and eye correction are more urgentㅎㅎ
Me: The surgeon recommended septal cartilage, but personally I feel a bit uneasy using septal cartilage.. Anyway, the septum is the pillar of the nose, and I want to disturb the nasal area as little as possible.. It feels uncomfortable because it’s connected to the nose’s function.. -> Manager: I also recommend autologous costal cartilage to my younger siblings and acquaintances rather than septal cartilage. Patients often feel burdened by taking rib cartilage from the start, but I recommend autologous costal cartilage over ear cartilage.
Manager: The hump isn’t that severe, so don’t shave it down, just refine it a little.. -> Me: What’s the difference between refining the hump and shaving it? -> Manager: Shaving means literally shaving off the hump to remove it, while refining is more like sanding the hump with sandpaper.
Your nasal skin is thin and your columella is short, so don’t use silicone.. It’ll show through like some celebrities’ noses.. Natural is best..
Instead of just the hump, the bone on both sides of the nasal bridge should also be opened during surgery and shaved if needed, so if it needs to be done, I think shaving is better.. You can only know once we open it up, and if it’s done, there would be an extra charge of 330,000 KRW (VAT included)..

I decided on raising the nose tip with autologous costal cartilage + refining the hump a little and filling with ear cartilageㅎ
Watching my post-op look through 3D virtual surgery, even just raising the nose tip changes the image completelyㅎㅎ I’m excited to get the surgery soon and see my changed faceㅎㅎ
