Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

After clinic-hopping, I’m just going to give up on the revision rhinoplasty I was planning.

What I’d gain and what I’d lose are too clear. I think I should take comfort in the fact that after my first surgery, at least my nasal bridge got somewhat higher without complications. It’s still disappointing that the nasal tip support was done weakly, but from a 45-degree angle or the side, the height is decent enough while still looking natural.

Honestly, I went to several clinics while shopping around, but after meeting a few doctors who still had a conscience and hearing about what I’d lose, it became obvious.

- If the bridge is raised high for a frontal effect (around 7 mm of silicone), as I age and the skin gradually gets thinner, it will inevitably show through eventually. - For people with fair, good skin, there is a limit to how much height can be added because the silicone can show through. - For skin types with a lot of sebum production, alar reduction scars generally remain dark, so it’s not recommended. - It is extremely difficult to get a frontal effect from rhinoplasty. - My revision surgery would be a difficult procedure. - Donated rib cartilage is not recommended because of its absorption rate, and if inflammation occurs, the degree of inflammation tends to appear more severe. - Autologous costal cartilage is safe, but it leaves a surgical scar, and pain follows for a certain period after harvesting the rib cartilage. - Pain after autologous costal cartilage surgery is caused by cutting through muscle, so men experience more severe pain than women.

So, my appearance from 45 degrees and from the side would definitely improve after surgery, but from the front, it would be hard to see an effect without alar reduction. Alar reduction has to be done while accepting the scar, so I have to decide whether to reduce my nostril wings and gain a scar, or just live as I am. If I still want a revision for a frontal effect, autologous costal cartilage is the safest, strongest, and longest-lasting option, but I’d need to decide on surgery after considering the drawbacks of a scar after rib harvesting (I looked it up and there are quite a few cases where it remains like thick scar tissue) and pain (the pain duration differs by person).

I want a frontal effect, but I realized once again that rhinoplasty has its limits, so I’m calling GG on the revision. I’ll use the surgery money I saved for overseas travel or good food instead and just heal myself T.T

I hope everyone gets good results after surgery, and I’ll step back now~
