Hello, everyone! I think it has been about 1 year and 3 months since my surgery. (I had my silicone and mesh, which had caused inflammation, removed and MegaDerm inserted. I also had my nasal tip redone because mesh had been used there without my being informed during my previous surgery.)
Since MegaDerm is an artificial dermis, I expected that it might not show an artificial reddish tint in sunlight like silicone does, but in the end MegaDerm also shows through red. It was stressful when photos in natural light made my nasal bridge look red because of the silicone T_T Why does MegaDerm look red too...? Is everything ultimately like this unless it is one’s own bone...?
I have absolutely no pressure pain like with silicone, nor does it cause inflammation, but I am very disappointed that it shows through red. There also seems to be a slight, thin step-off-like boundary, different from the step-off that occurs with silicone.
In conclusion, there were areas where absorption was somewhat uneven, so I had a small amount of filler injected. In my experience, filler has not caused an inflammatory reaction anywhere except my chin. So I am thinking that, if it can be addressed with filler going forward, I will only add small amounts. I do not want to add more MegaDerm or anything similar.
This may be due to my skin characteristics, but I am posting this in hopes it will be helpful to others as well.
