Review: had a hump nose procedure at a university hospital, then had the silicone removed three years later

(Long post warning) I had a consultation for a dorsal hump in the winter of 2022. Everywhere else said my nose had to be opened, but only a professor at [Clinic A], a university hospital in Daejeon, said there was no need for an open approach: shave only the protruding hump and secure that area with silicone. When I said I also wanted to raise my nasal tip a little, they said it was fine as is and there was no need to do that. Thinking about it now, I should have raised it!! Anyway, I wrote a review about this before, but I am writing again because the professor's aftercare is truly outstanding. I chose Daejeon for safety even though I live in Seoul, but since last year, 2025, the area containing the silicone kept turning bluish, T_T. They said it was pooled blood... A CT at another ENT clinic in Seoul showed that the silicone had shifted. The professor had originally said it was placed only to press down the hump and that I should remove it later, but I was lazy and had no problems and was very satisfied, so I just did not remove it!!! I had no idea it would become a problem like this. Anyway, I was considering nose surgery this winter, had visited clinics and even made a reservation. I will write a review about that later. But the bridge area with that awful silicone turned bluish again. I was so depressed and sad that I called the hospital. The clinic in Gangnam where I had booked and other ENT and plastic-surgery clinics all said they could not see me because the surgery had been done elsewhere. I understand their position, but... T_T I only needed pooled blood drained or the silicone removed, yet the hospitals were passing me around. My nose was blue, and I was truly sad. But Professor [Doctor A] at [Clinic A] connected me with a junior colleague in Seoul so that I could have the silicone removed right away. Incredible. Is this why connections matter? My nose was not opened, and the silicone was removed in literally 15 minutes. That doctor said the nose looking crooked was because the silicone had shifted, and if I wanted nasal surgery, I should absolutely not correct the deviated septum inside and do a full nose surgery; instead, I should only raise the nasal tip with cartilage. But I had already agreed at another Seoul clinic to get deviated-septum correction plus cosmetic rhinoplasty... They told me absolutely not to do it. They said 80 percent of Koreans have some internal nasal deviation, and touching that too would make it a major operation that disrupts everything. So I am deliberating whether not to have functional nasal surgery after all. I chose a university hospital for safety, but honestly, if it were not for Professor [Doctor A], would there be a hospital that takes responsibility so well even years after surgery? They are still so kind even though several years have passed. T_T Honestly, even at consultations, they analyze how big or crooked your nose is and all the proportions down to the nanometer, then only recommend surgery; nobody talks about aftercare or complications... I was extremely upset just because my nose turned blue from the silicone, so if an open nose surgery went wrong, I think I would be truly devastated. Anyway, I hope everyone has surgery somewhere safe with good aftercare.
