Because of the shadows under my eyes, no matter how much concealer I applied, I could not cover them, which was frustrating. I also had pigment laser treatments several times at a dermatology clinic, but they did not help much. Whenever I took photos, people kept telling me I looked tired. So, after deliberating, I went for a consultation. They said we first needed to determine whether the darkness under my eyes was a pigmentation issue or a shadow issue. In my case, they said the fat had been pushed forward, creating a shadow beneath it. They also explained that repositioning is not removal, but moving the fat. They said that if too much is removed, the area becomes hollow and can actually make one look older. I wondered whether the hollow under-eye photos I had seen online were cases like that. The surgery cost 540,000 won, and it was performed through the conjunctiva, so there is no external scar. It was done under local anesthesia, and took less time than I expected. The bruising lasted about ten days, and I got through it with sunglasses. After about a month, I could barely feel any swelling. Now I only need a light layer of concealer, and I am satisfied with that.
