I am leaving a one-month rhinoplasty review! I originally had a short, bulbous-looking nose, and because my skin is relatively thick, what worried me most was how blunt my nasal tip looked overall. After consulting at several places, I finally decided on surgery :) **The nose I wanted** * Above all, safely! I worried that excessive lengthening could cause contracture. * A natural bridge, without making it excessively high * Changes focused more on the nasal tip than the bridge * Improvement of the short appearance plus length at the nasal tip * A rounded, not pointed nasal tip * A shape with the columella descending naturally, without looking upturned * A curved line
More than a dramatically high nose, I considered a naturally prettier look on my own face most important. **Surgical method** It was performed with an open approach. I had hoped not to use more than 2 mm of silicone for the bridge, but the surgeon said they used 2.5 mm and carved it to fit my nose. My septum was thin, so it was not used; donated costal cartilage and ear cartilage were used for the nasal tip, and the dorsal hump was also corrected. At first after surgery, the bridge looked far too high, so I was really worried T_T. But I think it was swelling. However, I do not swell much, so even at day 10, people meeting me for the first time did not know I had rhinoplasty; there was that little swelling..!! So there was no discomfort due to my nose. Now, at one month, what I like most is that I have the height and length at the tip that I wanted, while the former short and blunt impression has decreased. I did not want the bridge made very high from the beginning, and it is not excessively high, so only my nose does not stand out from my face; it feels naturally connected. From the side, I am also satisfied that the dorsal hump was corrected and the line from the bridge to the tip became smooth :) During consultation, I explained the shape I wanted in quite a lot of detail. I think the points I especially emphasized—“I do not want it to look like an upturned nose,” “I do not want the tip to be too pointed,” and “I want the tip to look prettier than the bridge”—were well reflected. It has only been a month, so I do not think this is the final shape yet.. But I hope it does not become lower T_T. This is the shape I like best right now..!!! The surgeon said the tip would settle a little more naturally as the swelling goes down, so I am looking forward to seeing how it changes. Before surgery, I deliberated a great deal over everything from materials to shape, and even after surgery I worried about every little change. But so far, I am satisfied because it seems to be settling in the direction I wanted. I worry too much, lol. My surgery was supposed to be at 10:30, but they gave me additional consultation because I was so worried. The coordinator communicated well, and although the surgeon seemed busy, they always checked on me whenever I went to the clinic. My acquaintances had been too scared to do it after seeing my nose, but now they say they want it. I do sometimes wonder whether I should have made the tip a little higher, but before surgery I said I wanted it to be safe, natural, and harmonious above all, so I think they did it well in the direction I wanted!
