I assumed that drooping eyelids at my mom's age always meant upper blepharoplasty..!! But at a consultation, they told us the surgical method should differ depending on each person's eye condition?! As you can see in the photo, my mom has relatively thin eyelids. The doctor said that removing the drooping portion and doing upper blepharoplasty in her current state could make her impression look intimidating and harsh... T_T
For cases like this, they said a sub-brow lift, removing only the area below the eyebrows and creating a crease with double-eyelid surgery, would be more appropriate!! The explanation was detailed and easy to understand, so I trusted them and had her undergo a sub-brow lift + double-eyelid surgery. We are completely satisfied with the result haha.
Functional issues such as the pre-existing maceration around her eyes and narrowed field of vision have also improved a lot. There is still some swelling, but her appearance does not feel wide-eyed or overly intense, so I like it haha. Above all, I am happy because my mom is the most satisfied. Once the swelling goes down and things settle further, I think it will look natural; I will keep watching and write another post then!! (*^_*)
