After my first nose surgery, I did not think much about it for a while, but as time passed, I gradually became dissatisfied with my nose. My columella started to look progressively more droopy, and in front-facing photos I kept noticing that my nose looked slightly crooked T_T. I liked the height of my nasal bridge itself, so I did not particularly want to make it higher. My goal was to correct the crooked part and make only the nasal tip a little more projected than it was.
Since it was revision rhinoplasty, I researched clinics much more carefully than I had for my first surgery. After consulting with Dr. Choi Tae-jun at Wanna Plastic Surgery, I decided to proceed. He broke down the parts that had just vaguely felt odd to me into a crooked nose and columellar drooping, which helped me understand why my nose had looked awkward from the front.
I also have rhinitis, so since I was having surgery again anyway, I decided to improve the functional aspects as well! Right now, I like the front view the most. The impression that my nose was bent to one side has improved considerably, and as the columella was lifted, even my nasal tip looks much neater haha. It is not as though my bridge was dramatically raised and became a completely different nose, either; it matches the change I wanted well.
I also think it was a good choice to have rhinitis surgery at the same time. Breathing is so~~ comfortable, seriously. I started this revision rhinoplasty because of the shape, but being able to breathe more comfortably too has made me more satisfied than I expected lol. Since it was a revision, I worried a lot about what if it went wrong again, but this time the features that had bothered me whenever I looked in the mirror have been corrected, so I feel more at ease! I think it was good that I clearly told Dr. Choi Tae-jun at Wanna what I wanted before proceeding. If you are considering revision rhinoplasty for functional or cosmetic reasons like I was, try at least getting a consultation at Wanna.
