I'm planning my first double-eyelid surgery, so after doing online research, I went around for in-person consultations 3 weeks ago!! It took me a bit because I had to level up first haha
First of all, my eyes are horizontally long, and the inner corners are naturally sharply open. My irises are on the smaller side,,, I want an in-out line and prefer a natural look over something dramatic. After seeing reviews discouraging ptosis correction or talking about side effects, I was a bit scared, but at a clinic I went to 8 years ago when I was wondering whether to get double-eyelid surgery, they said I absolutely had to get ptosis correction (my eyes have quite a bit of fat and my skin is slightly thick), so I was almost planning on doing it.
1. ㅇㄹㄷㅇㅅㄹ It's right in front of the station, so it was easy to find. It's a single-director clinic, the director is a board-certified plastic surgeon, and they specialize in eyes, so I went. There aren't many reviews, but it seemed like everyone here was going around for consultations a lot, and I heard the doctor is sensitive about design lol so I went, and it really was true!! The consultation was with the consultant - director - consultant, and it took about 30 minutes total. Maybe because I went in the morning, there wasn't much waiting either!! First of all, the director explained things well, didn't try to upsell other procedures like canthoplasty, and held the line many times at different heights, which I liked. I was recommended partial-incision double-eyelid surgery with ptosis correction, and all four canthoplasty options were rejected lololㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ But it wasn't like they flat-out refused for no reason; they explained that since the eyes I want are natural and not too intense-looking, I should first get double-eyelid surgery and can consider canthoplasty later. And maybe because it's a single-director clinic, it felt somewhat relaxed? The consultant was also kind, and I liked that there was no pressure to book!
2. ㄷㄹ This place is also right in front of the station!! I heard the director is a master of in-out lines, so I went. The director here was a woman. First of all, I did like that they have an anesthesiology specialist. But since it was the afternoon, they seemed busy, so the waiting was long here and there,,,! The director also felt sliiightly busy? During the consultation, she listened seriously and spoke professionally, but the line she held for me wasn't quite to my likingㅠ Since my eyes tend to roll inward into an in-line, I was recommended non-incisional ptosis correction if I wanted an in-line, and incisional ptosis correction if I wanted an in-out line! Also here, they took very raw photos of my face with a DSLR,,, lol one with my eyes closed and one with them open, and we looked at them during the consultation, which was good.
In conclusion, I booked clinic no. 1! Honestly, while doing online research, I felt like if I went to too many consultations I'd get confused,,, so I excluded large clinics and narrowed it down to places with one director or 2-3 directors, then looked at review photos and picked only the places that fit my style, and went to the two places I wanted to visit most. But no. 2 was honestly good and trustworthy too, so I had a hard time choosing,,, And especially while waiting for the consultation, I briefly made small talk with someone who had come to get their stitches removed, and they had turned out so well that it also influenced me haha
