Before <before surgery> After <day 2> After <day 5> After <week 3> After <week 8> After <week 8> When I was going around for consultations to get double eyelid surgery, I thought I’d do non-incisional if possible since I might need revision surgery later, and decide on epicanthoplasty and ptosis correction after consultations. I went to 10 places, and the recommendations for incisional vs non-incisional were really exactly half and half. Non-incisional was possible too, but many clinics recommended incisional.
Anyway, after considering the consultation details and the lines they designed for me, I decided to do it at ㄷㄹ in Gangnam. I was going to post a review of the 10 consultations too, but I got lazy and still haven’t written it .. I’ll write it someday later. But 10 places for double eyelid surgery is too many, and I think it actually just gets in the way of deciding. For eye surgery, within 5 places seems enough.
With incisional double eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, epicanthoplasty, and fat removal, it came out to 2.3 million won, and I went ahead with surgery. I’m at week 8 now and I’m super satisfied lolololol
Honestly, until about 2 weeks ago, I still thought the swelling needed to go down more, and even if it did, I worried the line might be too high, so I had distrust and anxiety. Now it has settled quite a bit and looks natural, so I’m confident that after just one or two more months it’ll look much more natural. And I’m already very satisfied now.
After surgery, they check progress at week 1, week 2, month 1, and month 3, and at week 1 you go to have the stitches removed. During consultation, they said if they saw at week 1 that the eyes were uneven or something like that, they could do a re-correction. I asked if that happened often, and they said about once in ten cases. But I didn’t think that would be me ..
During the surgery, they said my right eye-opening strength was relatively weak, so they pulled the right side a little more. But at week 1, the left side was drooping more than the right, and although it wasn’t severe, they recommended re-correction, so in the end I had re-correction to pull the left side a bit more too.
Honestly, what I really liked about this place was that the imbalance wasn’t very severe. I was slightly worried that they might be uneven, but my mom and dad, who stayed home with me for a week and kept seeing my face, never once mentioned unevenness. It was such a subtle difference, but they looked carefully and caught it haha
In a way, some might say they should have done it right from the start and that needing re-correction means lack of skill, but I felt relieved because I thought they suggested re-correction because they pay attention to each patient. I guess this is why people say to go to an individual clinic instead of a factory-style clinic. Anyway, the director is very meticulous!!
So there is some swelling difference between the left and right. But what I’ve been feeling lately is, I’m not sure if this is a swelling difference or a line difference, and they look slightly uneven ㅠㅠ Normally it’s not very noticeable, but like in the last photo, when I open my eyes wide with force, the amount of iris exposure is different ㅠ
Still, it’s only month 2, so I can worry about unevenness later, right? Even if it hadn’t been re-correction, they say the swelling goes down at different speeds on the left and right anyway .. Should I watch it until next month?
