Before before before before before Hello. I had functional nose surgery + ear cartilage grafting at ㅂㄷㄴ(ㅋㄴㅍ) on March 9, and one week has passed. I had been eagerly waiting to take off the splint, and finally, on day 5, I visited the hospital and had the splint removed along with the external stitches. People usually say the nose looks like an Avatar until around 1 to 2 months, and that really is true.
When I look at myself from the front, the swelling between my nose and cheekbones is so tight that I look like an Avatar/lion. lol When I smile or move my philtrum, the nasal tip also feels tight and my skin feels pulled. When disinfecting inside the nose, I sometimes see a little blood, so I guess the internal incision line takes a bit longer to heal than the external one.
Looking at other people’s reviews, everyone had a huge nose... I’m just taking it as something that settles down a lot and finds its place around 1 month at the earliest or 2 months at the latest. When I look at my side profile in the mirror, the light reflection line looks straight. Before, the light reflection line that showed the hump and the curve of my deviated nose bothered me, but whether I look from the left or the right, I like how the reflection runs straight along the nose. haha
As for the condition of my nose and nasal breathing, maybe because the wound hasn’t fully healed yet, both sides still get blocked alternately. But since the septoplasty straightened the internal nasal passage, maybe more air is passing through, so I find myself inhaling and exhaling more deeply. I think I need to get used to it. haha
I’m still in the recovery period, so I’ll be careful day by day and monitor the progress. At the 1-month mark, I’m looking forward to seeing how much swelling goes down and what my nose shape will look like after the swelling subsides.
