My nose was short, I had no columella, and my nostrils showed upward, so I kept noticing it every time I looked in the mirror. Among those issues, the exposed nostrils were the most stressful. Then I recently had some free time and decided to go ahead with revision rhinoplasty, so I did a lot of online research and in-person consultations. While I was looking around, I was wondering where to choose, and then I found good reviews for [Clinic A], so I made a consultation appointment and visited.
After consulting with Director Kim Hyun-ju, I was able to book surgery on the same day. She immediately understood the problems with my nose and gave detailed explanations, which made me trust her, and I also liked the aesthetic sense in the review photos. Manager Kim Hee-ju also kindly went out of her way to show as many review photos as possible, even when I asked for reviews from one year after surgery.
Many other hospitals do not have review photos from one year later. I am also a case where after my second nose surgery, the shape looked pretty at first, but once the swelling went down, the shape no longer looked good. So I really wanted to see review photos from one year later.
I had only the nasal tip done for my third surgery, using autologous costal cartilage for the tip, with no implant for the bridge. I also had columella lowering, correction of a short nose, nostril lowering, and correction of a pinched nose. And for functional improvement, I also had rhinitis surgery.
After my second rhinoplasty, in certain seasons or environments, I had so much runny nose that I also had functional nose surgery.
After the surgery, my throat hurt so badly for several days that it was hard. On the first day, my nose was packed so I had to breathe through my mouth, but because my throat hurt, breathing was even harder. Still, it was better because my nose was not completely stuffed with cotton.
The donor site where the costal cartilage was taken from hurt, but it was not like unbearable pain... rather, there was almost no pain when I stayed still, but it hurt every time I moved, so the discomfort was greater. The nose pain felt like a spicy sensation in my nose? It was tolerable.
Even a mild laser on my face makes me swell / I bruise easily, so I was surprised that this surgery had so little swelling and almost no bruising. That also means the director's hand skills are excellent, so even before removing the splint I was excited about the changed nose shape.
After removing the splint in week 1, the nose shape I wanted came out, so I was satisfied. The nostril improvement, which had been my biggest stress, turned out very well, and the pinched nose, columella, and short nose were all improved, so I kept looking at my nose all the way home.
After week 2, once the stitches inside the nose and the silicone were removed, I liked the shape even more. (After the silicone inside my nose was removed, the tip dropped a little!) They also took good care of aftercare with laser + injections / related medicine and supplies, and the director kept checking on me. So different from hospitals that just abandon you after surgery.
I am really looking forward to how my nose looks once all the swelling is gone!!!
