I really had my primary surgery without knowing anything, so unintentionally, this will be my 4th surgeryㅠ
My original nose was a bulbous-nose style, so I don’t think it’s contracture, but maybe because the tip is too high, it started to lift upwardㅠㅠ I went around for consultations at ㅁㅌ, ㅎㅌ, ㅁㅅㅇ, ㅋㅇ, ㄹㅋㅋ, ㅇㄷ, ㅈㅇㅌ, ㄷㄹ, ㅋㅂㅈ, but the surgical methods at the places I like are complete oppositesㅠㅠ
For reference, I want to avoid rib cartilage as much as possible, but if I do use it, it would be autologous costal cartilage. My goal is just to lower the nasal tip naturally without problems..
ㄷㄹ(Gangnam) said it doesn’t seem to be contracture, so we shouldn’t go as far as rib cartilage, and suggested silicone + reusing the existing cartilages & additionally using ear cartilage.
But my nose is small, and my ears and septum are small tooㅋㅋㅋ They said the amount of ear cartilage might be a bit tight..!? So when I asked, “What if you open my nose and there isn’t enough cartilage?ㅠㅠ,” the answer wasn’t clear, just that they would handle it themselves.. so this part still feels a little uneasy..
Aside from that, they explained my nose in detail, checked a lot of things like how lowering the tip would make it look longer and the overall nose balance, so the consultation itself with the doctor and consultant was my favorite, and I was the most drawn to them..?
But today I went to ㅋㅂㅈ, which I’d been considering, and they said that to lower my nasal tip, it absolutely has to be rib cartilage. They said silicone for the nasal bridge & autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip are required!
Out of 10 consultations, it was almost half and half between “use rib cartilage” and “use cartilage,” but even the places that said to use rib cartilage weren’t as firm as this place..? They said if rib cartilage isn’t used as the support, my nose will go back to how it is now..
And I was told in this community to avoid septal extension surgery.. But ㅋㅂㅈ said septal extension is required to lower the length of my nose, and if I want this to be my last surgery, the nasal tip has to be rib cartilage, so I’m having a mental breakdownㅠ
But the doctor’s consultation time was so short that I wonder if they really examined my nose properly, and I didn’t get to see many review photos either, so I’m worried whether it’ll be okay.. Somehow I don’t think it would be ruined, but~~ there’s a slightly uneasy feeling somewhere..? In terms of the AS period and nose-surgery experience, I am drawn to this side, though..
For a fourth-time revision, are septal extension and autologous costal cartilage essential..? What do you all think..?
Right now, skill matters more to me than friendliness, but this is so hardㅜㅜ
