It had been more than ten years since I had revision surgery with buried stitches, and I went in for a consultation because I have asymmetrical eyes. The doctor tried opening my eyes several times with a tool and recommended an incisional procedure. They said the fold in one eye is hard to even call a double eyelid; it’s more like a crease. Since my eye-opening strength is very weak, they also recommended eye correction. I asked about canthoplasty because the space between my eyebrows is a bit wide, but they said it would make me look fiercer and didn’t recommend it. The doctor’s tone was firm, with a recommendation for incisional surgery plus eye correction, but it wasn’t to the point of feeling rude. After the doctor consultation, I met with the coordinator, who said she had only recently started working there. She was kind, but compared with other places, she told me very little unless I specifically asked about things I should know in advance.
