First of all, my nose has a low bridge and a blunt tip, a bulbous nose, and the line I want is a refined straight-to-slightly-curved line! From the end of September until now, I’ve visited four places in total, and I have two more left. But those are backed up with reservations, so I’m writing about the places I’ve already been to first.
1. ㄴㅇㄷ No consultation fee. Took a CT scan. They took three face photos: front, side, and front with my head tilted up. They pointed out that my nostrils were uneven, which I hadn’t even known. I have facial asymmetry, but even my nostrils were uneven... shocking lololol. So while looking at the photos and my face, they explained in specific detail where and how I was asymmetric. Among the places I went to, they pointed out my asymmetry in the most specific way, and I liked that part. However, since this was the first clinic I went to without knowing anything, I couldn’t clearly ask about what I wanted, so I still feel a bit regretful ㅜ I couldn’t ask detailed questions one by one, so the director’s answers felt like, “I’ll take care of it appropriately for you~,” with a lot of confidence. I asked about the nasal tip spreading? drooping? over time after surgery, and they said that if the support is set up well and the surgery is done properly, it won’t droop. But isn’t nasal tip drooping over time after surgery unavoidable..? I’m a bit unsure about this part.. The director, consultant, and staff were all kind, and there was no pressure to book. They comfortably told me to look around other clinics and think about it. They showed me the areas where CCTV is installed and said I absolutely didn’t need to worry about a shadow doctor. The review-event discount amount was the smallest, which I actually liked. They said they provide lifetime aftercare for functional issues. But thinking about it, if side effects occur, people usually have revision surgery at another clinic, so I also wondered whether that has much meaning.. Still, at least I thought they wouldn’t ignore me if side effects occurred.

2. ㅇㅍ(ㅜㅓㄴ ㅣㄱ) Consultation fee 10,000 won. Took a CT scan. Face photos from the front and side. Among the places I had consultations, this was where the director explained things in the most detailed and meticulous way. They use customized silicone. They seem to place great importance on safety and seem to operate very carefully. But they didn’t mention the asymmetry, so I was like, huh? But when I brought it up, they explained it then. When I talked about the nasal tip spreading after surgery, their opinion was the same as the director at ㄴㅇㄷ. (What is the truth, seriously?) They said the staff members also had nose surgery from the director, and one staff member’s nose was pretty, so I was kind of tempted.. lol They said they would operate while matching the shape I wanted as much as possible, and that during surgery they put up photos of the nose the patient wants while operating. I liked that the consultant sat in during the director’s consultation. That means the consultant also knows the consultation details well. This place gives the biggest discount if you do the provisional reservation and review-related things. However, the consultant pushed the reservation a bit, saying, “If you do this and that, I’ll discount this much, and also this much...” When I hesitated, she kept saying things with a feeling like, “Our director is good though.. really good... really...”

3. ㅇㅌ - ㅈㅇㅈ No consultation fee. No CT scan. Face photos from the front and side. First “huh?” moment when I heard they don’t take a CT scan. When I asked during the consultation, they said CT isn’t necessary for a first surgery. They examined my nose by touch while consulting, and the consultation was detailed. When I brought up customized implants, they said there was no particular need to use one. (Reason: even with regular implants alone, there are over 1,000 shapes and types, and they can be carved to fit the patient’s nose. They also said there are study results showing no meaningful difference in safety between customized implants and regular implants.) Regarding noses, they seemed to have a firm personal preference in style and seemed to pursue a glamorous look. They said the nasal tip needed to be raised quite a lot and suggested using donated costal cartilage. This was my second “huh?” moment. It was the only place among my consultations that recommended costal cartilage. They said if I wanted to use autologous costal cartilage, that would also be okay. They also explained how the nasal tip shape differs when using autologous costal cartilage versus donated costal cartilage. But I’m someone who prefers natural 7, glamorous 3, so I worried it might become too glamorous... That part didn’t seem to match me well ㅜ Of course, they did say they would match my needs if I wanted. When explaining the nasal angle, they compared it with other celebrities’ nasal angles, which was easy to understand and nice because I could grasp the details. The consultant and director were kind, but the desk staff were just so-so. They weren’t unfriendly, but they felt a bit tired?

4. ㅇㅂㄹ Consultation fee 10,000 won. Took a CT scan. No face photos. Reason: they took a CT, and it lets them view my face in 3D..!!! So without needing to take photos, they rotated the 3D model around and conducted the consultation. I liked this part because it seemed more accurate than photos. I liked that once the surgery is confirmed, before surgery they make a 3D simulation of the expected postoperative appearance so I can view it. They told me parts that other clinics said would be good to do were unnecessary. If other clinics said they would make it as similar as possible to the photos I brought, here they recommended a nose that suits my face. They place importance on facial harmony. When I showed a photo of the straight-to-slightly-curved line I wanted, they said if it’s made this sharp and prominent, my facial asymmetry could look more noticeable, and that they personally wouldn’t do it that way. My trust went up there. Since they use customized implants, I said, “Other clinics said there’s no need to use one..!” and they said it allows them to use silicone that fits the patient’s nose exactly, so if anything, there’s no reason not to use it. During the consultation, I felt they really value safety. I liked that instead of saying everything is possible no matter what, they clearly advise against what they don’t recommend and say they won’t do things that don’t need to be done. Oh, and during the consultation, they explain while showing surgical photos, so everyone who doesn’t tolerate gruesome images well should keep that in mind before going.. I’m fine with graphic things, so it was okay.
