The clinic looks quite old, but the atmosphere is kind and comfortable. The coordinator seemed to have a lot of experience, but I remember being a little taken aback because she was wearing casual clothes rather than a uniform. They showed me before-and-after photos, but the materials had been printed and laminated themselves, which also surprised me. The photos also looked about 10 to 20 years old. Overall, it felt like a space where time had stopped. The doctor strongly emphasized that they pursue results that do not look obviously cosmetic and appear natural. Most of the clinics I visited suggested using septal and ear cartilage, but here they suggested using only ear cartilage. Other clinics had said that my nasal tip was weak and soft, so ear cartilage alone would not be enough. When I asked about that, the doctor only replied, in effect, that he had been performing nose surgery since before I was born and that using only ear cartilage would cause no problem, which left me somewhat puzzled. (But I was late to the consultation, and the doctor seemed rushed because of the surgery schedule afterward, so I thought that might explain it..) The coordinator was very kind and seemed knowledgeable from having worked there a long time. In fact, she explained in detail that my nose would not droop because it does not sag downward when I smile or make expressions, so there is no pulling force. I like that they seem to prioritize safety and a natural result, but I am concerned because there is so much controversy surrounding Gore-Tex.
