This place is somehow... different from other hospitals... hard to describe, but it feels warm. As soon as I walked in, the manager asked if I was cold and offered me a cup of hot corn tea, then asked if I was hungry and whether I wanted some soy milk. I was going around to consultations on a cold day, feeling upset and crying, and those small acts of consideration really comforted me. Also, at other places the consultation goes manager, doctor, manager, but here you meet the doctor right away. The doctor is different too. He’s not the obviously friendly type, and his way of speaking can feel a bit strong, but somehow he feels trustworthy. First, he says it’s most important to come in knowing exactly what you want. If you think carefully in advance and explain exactly what part you want changed and how, with a drawing or photos, then he can tell you what is possible and what isn’t. I really liked that. If you only talk verbally, even if the listener thinks they understood everything, there can still be errors in transmission. Seeing how this place emphasizes being precise, I felt like I might really get the exact shape I want, so I’m looking forward to it.
