Patient review of Gimjangho (김장호) · 2019-06-11

I had been going around more than 10 hospitals around Gangnam Station, Apgujeong, and Sinsa Station while looking into eye and nose surgery, but I still felt uneasy somehow, and I was tired of talking with the consultation manager.. So while searching for plastic surgery specialists through the association, I decided to go because it was close to my home and I thought I should stop just worrying about it. First, the pros and cons I felt during the consultation were: - Pros 1. There is no consultation manager. I talked directly with the doctor, which was really nice. Also, the doctor here seems to pursue a natural style. Since I am a man, I prefer natural-looking surgery rather than something obvious, so I liked that. 2. The price was much (?) cheaper than hospitals in the Gangnam area. This can be both a pro and a con, but it was actually much cheaper than Gangnam. I am not sure whether Gangnam is expensive because of rent and consultation manager pay, but this place is cheaper. 3. It feels trustworthy. The doctor said he had been at this hospital for about 18 years, and when I actually got the consultation, it did feel trustworthy. - Cons 1. The hospital facilities are not bad, but I cannot really say they are especially great either. I could not go into the operating room, so the waiting room and the director's office just felt neat and clean. 2. I do not know whether to call it doubt or prejudice, but although the director has long experience in one place, Gangnam clinics deal with dozens or hundreds of patients every day and actually do a lot of surgery, so I did wonder whether Gangnam might still be better.. That is the feeling I got. Clinics in Gangnam seem to have a lot of advertising and a lot of brokers too.. so I am not sure. I wrote this as an unstructured consultation review. I want to get a more detailed second consultation here and, if I like it, I plan to have the surgery at this hospital. Follow-up disinfection and checkups after surgery would be hard to do if I went to Gangnam, since it is so far.. It is not like going to Gangnam guarantees success anyway..
